KANE Industrial Consulting

Fractional Reliability and Maintenance Leader

Add experienced leadership capacity while strengthening the plant’s own maintenance team.

When this helps

A leadership transition, growing backlog, upcoming outage or need for sustained improvement can stretch the existing team. Fractional support gives a plant access to senior maintenance and reliability leadership for an agreed portion of its work.

Areas of support

  • Planning and scheduling routines, job preparation and ready backlog.
  • Backlog health, work priorities and performance reviews.
  • Preventive maintenance effectiveness and critical asset focus.
  • Coaching for supervisors and planners.
  • Outage preparation, readiness milestones and contractor interfaces.

How the engagement works

The plant and KANE agree the term, schedule, responsibilities, decision authority and deliverables in writing before work begins. The work is intended to build routines and capability within the plant’s own team.

What you receive

Deliverables depend on the scope and may include documented priorities, a planning rhythm, regular reviews, outage readiness milestones and coaching goals for the team.

Scope and boundaries

Plant leadership retains line authority unless specific responsibilities are expressly agreed in writing. KANE does not supply technicians or operators or become the employer of plant staff. Engineering approvals and site safety responsibilities remain with the appropriate plant authorities.

Frequently asked questions

How much time is included?

The schedule is agreed for the plant’s needs and documented in the scope.

How is this different from an assessment?

An assessment identifies findings and priorities. Fractional leadership adds ongoing support for an agreed period, with responsibilities and authority specified in writing.

Start with a 30-minute call

Tell KANE about your plant, the assets that worry you and what you have tried. The call will help determine which assessment fits, or whether you need one at all.
